    AREAS OF SPECIALISM
I have been working as a Relate Counsellor since 2002 working with Couples, Individuals, Families and Young People.I have an established private practice in Brighouse since 2006 and receive referrals from GPs, Schools, Health Professionals,Sure Start and a significant number of self referrals, in addition to being awarded a license to receive referrals from Relate. I have received additional training on issues such as adult survivors of sexual abuse; mental health and couple counselling; domestic violence, infertility and human sexuality*
*(Specialised Psychosexual Therapy may be recommended)

    PERSONAL APPROACH.
My work is underpinned by two therapeutic (counselling) models; Psychodynamic and Systemic. My practice is based on needs and best interest of the client at all times. However I may not be able to keep something confidential, should I have reason to believe someone especially a child is at risk of harm.I will consult with you wherever possible, should this be the case.
My previous experience of managing and working with people issues in corporate life, also provides a great deal of experience and understanding of the pressures of work related issues including redundancy, displacement and stress in todays current economic climate.

I am also a qualified trainer and deliver a diverse range of courses privately and for relate on counselling and non counselling related subjects.

    DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
If you are concerned about domestic violence or abuse within your relationship I can offer individual sessions in the strictest confidence. This may also be recommended prior to considering ongoing couple therapy, to ensure we can work safely.
